Time matters. Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. If you can, gently place it back in the socket. Otherwise keep it in milk and call us right away.
Swelling in the gum or face can be a sign of infection and should be seen promptly. If swelling is spreading, or you have trouble breathing or swallowing, go to the nearest emergency department or call 911.
